Lunchtime Directors’ Contract Clinic

October 26, 2022

Bring your legal and contract questions for SDGI Lawyer

We invite you to join us with any legal issue you may have related to your director’s contract past, present or upcoming. Each member will get a free legal advice in private session with lawyer, David Sweeney.

On the 19th November 2021 the Irish government signed new copyright legislation into law. These legal changes have  transformed copyright in the EU and strengthened  director’s rights which give new provisions in Irish director’s contracts.

Have you received an annual annual, detailed, breakdown in writing of the profits and losses from your producer on the project you directed? Want to know more information on how to go about requesting this information? Have you you a question about a clause in your contract?

Date: Wednesday 16th November

Time: 12pm -1pm

Online link: Check your inbox from SDGI

A lawyer and public affairs advocate David Sweeney has worked for over 25 years in media; film, television, video games and music. Since 2004 David has been at the cutting edge of creativity and law in key roles in the international video game and app industries – two sectors which have met the twin opportunities of new technology and social media with the most success. David continues to represent major industries at the institutions of the United Nations, WHO, WTO and WIPO and also at the OECD. David has acted for SDGI in the past.
