SDGI Annual Meeting of Directors 2024

March 21, 2024

The Chairman, Maurice Sweeney and the board of SDGI are delighted to officially invite you in-person to the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland’s 21st Annual Meeting of Directors on Friday 10th May 2024 at 10:30 am in the MoLI Museum, 86 St Stephen’s Green Dublin 2.

We look forward to coming together and updating you on SDGI’s work over the past year and sharing plans and thoughts on how we will overcome the challenges that lie ahead for Irish screen directors.

Directors will be able to connect with their peers, welcome new members over a sandwich, tea, and coffee, and update their professional headshot on us.

We would love to see you on the day!

2024 NOMINATIONS
In accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland, two directors will step down and put themselves forward to be re-elected to the board. Should you wish to make a nomination, download, fill out, and submit to SDGI using the 2024 Nomination Form. All members are welcome to nominate any member with their consent.

VENUE
This year we are in The Museum of Literature Ireland which reflects the high standard of excellence in storytelling and is a great place to celebrate the creativity and talent of our members. MoLI is located about 2 minute walk from St Stephen’s Green Luas stop, on the south side of the Green (away from Grafton Street). There are two DublinBikes stations right across the street from MoLI and on-street bicycle parking nearby. Bus routes, including 7, 11, 15, 16, 39A, 44, 46A, 140, 145, and 155. The nearest parking point is Q Park St Stephen’s Green.

DIRECTORS UK
We are thrilled to announce an extra session for our AGM this year. Directors UK Chief Executive Andy Harrower and board members will join us from London to host a specialized session focusing on crucial aspects such as collecting directors’ residuals in the UK. Directors will have the opportunity to ask questions and hear directly from a board member on navigating the dynamic landscape of working in the UK film and TV industry.

HEADSHOTS
Photographer Steve Langan will be joining us on the day. His work is exceptional with expertise in drawing out the individual within so people can get a better sense of the individual through their picture! To find out more, arrive early to get your headshot done by Steve and see his portrait work here.

TOUR OF MoLI
All guests of the Annual Meeting of Directors will have a free ticket to tour the MoLI museum if you wish to see the fantastic story of Irish literature exhibits before or after the meeting. You can use the sticker on entry to gain access to the exhibit.

This is an important opportunity for screen directors at every level to share what their needs are, give us feedback, and help identify the most innovative new ideas within our directing community.
Please bring any questions or topics you wish to discuss.

More details and documents to follow. This will not be live streamed so we encourage you to join us!
