Directors invited to apply: New Basic Income for Artists

Applications are now invited for inclusion in the Basic Income for the Arts Pilot scheme from the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media

This scheme is established with various goals including to enable artists and creative arts workers to focus on artistic and creative work without having to enter into employment in other sectors to sustain themselves.

SDGI is the Registered body for directors. Evidence of Membership of SDGI can include the following:

  • Screenshots of online membership portal pages showing the applicant logged in with their name / membership number / your logo or name etc.;
  • Emails confirming payment of membership fees or acknowledging their membership and type of membership (these do not need to be emails from the last week or so.  Most applicants should have sufficient evidence of the membership we require already);
  • Membership letters. If you chose to use letter membership of SDGI as evidence of eligibility please request a Membership Confirmation letter no later than Monday 10th of May. Members who have waived fees are also eligible for letter.
  • The application portal will open from 1pm on Tuesday, 12th April 2022.
  • Deadline for receipt of all applications is 1pm on Thursday, 12th May 2022.
