The Screen Directors Guild of Ireland and the Irish Society of Cinematographers are thrilled to invite members to a special evening dedicated to exploring the dynamic partnership between directors and cinematographers.

Join Us for an Evening of:

Insightful Group Discussion: Hear from some of Ireland’s top directors and cinematographers as they delve into their collaborative successes, challenges, and the creative processes that drive their projects. We will be joined by director-cinematographer duos Hannah Quinn and Tim Fleming and Declan Recks and Paddy Jordan.

Exclusive Case Studies: Get a behind-the-scenes look at how these partnerships have crafted some of the most visually compelling stories in Irish TV and film.

Networking Opportunities: After the talks, stay to mingle with a vibrant community of filmmakers, both seasoned veterans and emerging talents. It’s the perfect opportunity to make connections.

Hannah Quinn


Film & TV director Hannah Quinn, is currently directing crime thriller North Sea Connection in Connemara. Hannah previously directed the 2nd Unit of Disenchanted (Disney), Vikings: Valhalla (Netflix), for which she won the IFTA Award for Best Director – Drama in 2022, Fate: The Winx Saga (Netflix), The Stranger (Netflix), Blood (VMTV), Eastenders (BBC1), Red Rock (TV3), and award winning short films Smithy & Dickie and My Bonnie.

Tim Fleming


Tim Fleming is an Irish Cinematographer, internationally known for his work in the film industry and on the Oscar-winning movie, Once. His work also includes Jimi: All Is by My Side, a drama based on Jimi Hendrix, alongside Gold, Citadel and The Door which took home awards from the Polish Grand OFF, the Bilbao International Film Festival, and the title of best short film at the IFTAs in 2009.

Declan Recks


Declan has directed some of the top rated shows on Irish Television including the critically acclaimed Pure Mule (RTE) winner of 5 IFTA’s including Best Director; Best Drama IFTA winner The Running Mate (TG4), and Scúp (TG4/BBC) Nominated best Irish Language IFTA. His debut feature film, Eden, was the closing film at the 2008 Jameson Dublin International Film Festival and premiered in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival winning Eileen Walsh the Best Actress Award for her role. His film The Truth Commissioner (2016) was nominated for Best Drama at the 2016 Celtic Media Awards. His film The Flag was released in cinemas in 2016 and was the number one film screened on Irish TV on Christmas Day of that year, capturing a third of all viewers. Recent TV credits include episodes of Death in Paradise and Nova Jones for BBC Studios and Red Election (Mopar Studios/A+E) now available on Disney+. His latest Feature Film Tarrac premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2022.

Patrick Jordan


Patrick Jordan is an award-winning cinematographer with twenty years of experience shooting drama, documentary and commercial projects with bases in London and Dublin. Recent drama work includes Season 2 Block 2 of Signore Volpe starring Emilia Fox & Tara Fitzgerald in Italy and produced by Route 24 / Cattleya for AMC Networks’ Acorn TV, The Vanishing Triangle starring India Mullen & Allen Leech for Virgin Media & AMC Networks, four part series The House Across the Street starring Shirley Henderson & Craig Parkinson and Tarrac, a feature directed by Declan Recks which won ‘Best Cinematography in an Irish Film’ at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2022.
