Following the success of The Chameleon (Rory’s first film, which won best Irish Animation at the Galway film Festival.), Rory auditioned for and was accepted by Aardman Animations. He trained under four-time Oscar-winning Director Nick Park. He progressed to work on such projects as, “Chicken Run”, the BAFTA-award-winning “Robbie & the Reindeers”, Tim Burton’s “Corpse Bride” & Oscar-winning characters Wallace & Grommit. He also worked on a wide range of commercials & television series for companies including the BBC, Hit TV, Cosgrove Hall films, Granada & Warner Brothers.

Rory moved home to Ireland to direct his own animated projects in 2006. He has written & directed five award-winning animated shorts since making “The Chameleon” – “Guy’s Dog”, “Ape”, “The Butterfly Collector” & “God’s Early Work”.

Rory currently works in live-action film. He wrote and directed mulitple award-winning short films George, the Martyr’s Crown, Somniac, Stir and The Man Inside. He has also worked on wide range of music videos, corporate promos & commercials for clients including Nissan, Yahoo, Kelloggs, Berocca, Champion Sports, Johnson Mooney & O’Brien, Cuicas Brava, Uniflu, and a National Lottery campaign.
