Paudie Baggott is an award-winning filmmaker from Co. Limerick.

Graduate of the National Film School at IADT (BA Hons in Film & Television Production and Direction).

Dublin International Film Festival 2025 Discovery Award Nominee.

To date, he’s directed several comedy shorts all of which have screened or won at global Oscar and Bafta-affiliated film festivals including Galway Film Fleadh, Aesthetica, Bolton Film Festival, Waterford Film Festival, Emerging Director’s Awards and The Chicago International Children’s Film Festival.

His shorts have been funded by Kildare Co-Co, The Pitch Film Fund in the UK, and he most recently completed the Screen Ireland funded Focus Short ‘Peat’ – a darkly comic fantasy he wrote and directed. It premiered at Galway Film Fleadh in 2024 and almost burned down Town Hall Theatre. (you had to be there)

As a director, he develops both existing and self-written projects.

Post-college Paudie joined the film industry as a Standby Art Director on several Feature Films and TV Shows. Concurrently he attended the Actor’s Studio in The Factory (later Bow Street Academy) working alongside actors, developing the skills and language needed to build better collaboration.

His previous short film, ‘The Innkeeper’, a sweet comedy-drama told from a child’s point-of-view and starring a cast of 8-year-olds, is currently on the festival circuit, receiving several awards and great feedback from audiences.
