In 2020 his feature project Bedsitterland was selected for the Berlinale Co-Production Market, and has recently been optioned by Honest Arts (Ireland) and Ramdan (Scotland) with AmyBeth McNulty (Stranger Things) attached in the lead role. His documentary feature The Song Cycle (2025), which he also produced, won Best Independent Film at the Galway Film Fleadh and Audience Choice at the IFI Documentary Festival. His feature film project The Sea Lion, previously a finalist at the Fleadh Pitching Competition and a Quarter-Finalist in the Page Awards, was selected for the Screen Ireland Residential Rewrite Workshop in January 2025. He is attached to direct Irish-French-Spanish road movie Bon Voyage, written by Francis Farrugia and Shane McCabe, and to be produced by Ilann Girard and Edwina Forkin, which has received Screen Ireland Development Support. Most recently, he has signed a deal with Penguin UK to develop The Racket, Conor Niland’s award-winning account of life on the global  tennis circuit (William Hill Sports Book of The Year 2024) into a drama feature.

In 2019, Nick established and ran an innovative Dublin-based independent TV writers room The Story Works dedicated to generating long form drama with global potential. The same year he was one of three Irish writers selected for the Screenskills LA Writers Room Placements on which he shadowed the Supergirl and S.W.A.T. rooms. He has also been developing Welcome To Hell, an epic period TV crime drama he has written with Carl Austin. His TV drama series Repeat To Fade was selected for the Torino Film Labs TV Next program in 2025.
