Naomi Sheridan has been working in Film and Television for years in a wide variety of genres.

One of her first screenplays was “In America”, a film she co-wrote with her father and sister. It was nominated for an Academy award, a Golden Globe, the WGA award and the Humanitas award. It went on to win the Critics Choice award and the National Board of Review award.

Since then, she has written teleplays and screenplays for Paramount, NBC Universal, Tribeca Films, Disney, and Element Pictures. She has created a TV show for NBC and has recently developed “In America” as a series for HBO.

She has a Master’s degree in Screenwriting for Film and Television from IADT, and has just completed an MPhil in Trinity on Film Theory and History.

Currently she is developing her television show, Showstopper, with the support of Screen Ireland and Four Quadrant Films.

She has directed three short films, one of which was part of RTE’s Shortscreen. Her most recent short ‘Kiki’ was developed as part of the Virgin Media Discovers programme. It won best screenplay at the Women in Film and Television Showcase, Best Screenplay from the Writer’s Guild of Ireland and was on the longlist for the Oscars after winning best live action short at the Cleveland International Film Festival.
