Mia Mullarkey is an Irish film director based between Dublin and Galway. She directed several successful short films, receiving over 60 awards and nominations at international festivals such as Aesthetica, Palm Springs, Flickers’ Rhode Island, and São Paulo. Mia directed a number of TV programmes, and her work has been shown on RTE, TG4, Virgin Media TV, France24, ShortsTV USA, and Mubi. She is a host on the Film Network Ireland Wrap Chat podcast and a member of Screen Directors Guild Ireland and Women in Film & TV. In 2018 she received the Discovery Award from Dublin Film Critics’ Circle for her body of work. Most recently, Mia’s debut short drama The Passion was nominated for an IFTA and a Zebbie, and her Screen Ireland Focus Short Safe as Houses had it’s World Premiere at the Oscar-qualifying 34th Galway Film Fleadh.
