Janna Kemperman is a filmmaker and artist based in Dublin whose work concentrates on the dynamics between people, social structures, and the interplay between the real and surreal. She directed the 2018 STORYLAND film Everything Not Saved. Her short films HEN and Waiting on a Train have been officially selected for leading film festivals and have screened internationally.

Known for her diverse skill-set Janna has enjoyed working in film, theater, and dance. Using these techniques she has expanded her artistic style and has worked on Short Films, Music Videos, and the official promotional films for Ireland’s biggest music festivals Body & Soul and Electric Picnic. Janna often collaborates with the exciting new Irish visual company Algorithm. Janna is currently a multi-camera director on RTÉ’s longest-running TV series Fair City.

Janna was selected for the 2019 Reykjavik International Film Festival Talent Lab. Chosen as a finalist for the Ronan Phelan pitching competition at IndieCork Film Festival 2019.

She has been awarded the Focus Short film award 2020 from Screen Ireland, which is set to shoot at the end of the summer.
