Daire Collins is an Irish documentary filmmaker whose work focuses our human obsession with legacy. 

His debut feature film, The Fool or the Holyman, is currently in post-production with Catpics AG (Switzerland) and Ard Mhacha Productions (Ireland), supported by Screen Ireland, the Zurich Film Fund and the Swiss Federal Office of Culture. It will be released in 2027. 

His Irish-language documentary film Beo Faoin bhFód premiered at the 2025 Galway Film Fleadh. In 2021 Daire directed For Emergency Use Only, a short documentary for The New Yorker, which marked his move to creative nonfiction. He had previously worked as a journalist for the BBC, Channel 4 News, HuffPost and Al Jazeera experience that continues to shape his instinct for deeply researched, character-driven storytelling.
