Alexandra McGuinness was born in Dublin and grew up in Wicklow. She moved to London at 17 where she worked as an actress and writer before attending the London Film School, she graduated in 2009.
She has directed a number of short films and music videos, her debut feature film Lotus Eaters premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2011.
