Alan Bradley is an award winning Irish director working primarily in documentary as well as commercials and television drama. Alan won the Young Director Award for Documentary at Cannes 2024 and is the youngest director to hold a prime time RTÉ One documentary slot. He has been selected as ‘One To Watch’ 2024 by the TV Foundation UK.
Alan directed and produced the hit RTÉ One documentary ‘Seán’, exploring the life of the legendary GAA manager Seán Boylan. The film received critical acclaim as well as being the most watched documentary on Irish television during the month it aired.
Alan directed and produced ‘Unspoken, a landmark documentary for RTÉ One exploring the hidden issue of men living with eating disorders in Ireland.
In 2023, Alan directed and produced the ground breaking RTS nominated and Radharc Award winning documentary ‘Patrick: A Young Traveller Lost’ highlighting the crisis of the alarmingly high suicide rates in the Irish Traveller community through the devastating story of 12 year old Patrick McDonagh from Finglas Dublin. President of Ireland, Micheal D Higgins stated ”There are so many reasons I could think of why this film should be seen in every household, and it would be just incredibly valuable if it were seen in every school.”
His documentary ‘Stalked’ for Virgin Media Television followed the stories of 3 stalking survivors and marked the ground breaking legislative changes in Ireland to make stalking finally a crime.
Alan is currently directing a slate of documentaries for RTÉ, BBC and VMTV due to air in 2024, including ‘Anorexia My Family and Me’ narrated by Angela Scanlon, and ‘Invisible Men: Ireland’s Incels’.
