Adam graduated from DBS College in 2016 with a BA in Film and Media Studies. His final-year film earned him the Spotlight Award for Best Student Director in 2016. Adam spent a year working on various projects in Ireland, notably as a focus puller and 1st Assistant Camera (A.C.) on the feature film Be Good or Be Gone, before moving to Vancouver, Canada, to join its thriving film industry.

For the next five years, Adam worked in production alongside some of the most experienced crew members from across Canada. During this time, he advanced from a day-call Production Assistant to Assistant Locations Manager, working both on set and in the office, rotating between prep and shoot for each episode. Adam worked in this capacity on both Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Batwoman.

After several years in the film industry, Adam sought new challenges and had the opportunity to work as an associate producer for EA Games, exclusively with the motion capture department.  Adam co-wrote, directed, edited, and produced his first film, A Guide to Becoming an Elm Tree, with Skye.  It was a success, playing at festivals such as Achill Island, Chattanooga Film Festival, and alongside Saltburn at Fantastic Fest Austin. The film was then longlisted for the 2024 IFTA Awards in several categories, including Best Film, Best Actor, and Best Director.

In 2023, Adam moved back home to Ireland full-time to pursue a career as a writer/director. His latest project, Cian and the West, is currently in development with Screen Ireland.

During his five years in the Canadian film industry, Adam gained valuable experience in the logistical side of filmmaking. He learned how to plan effectively for constantly changing schedules, unexpected problems, and last-minute changes. He observed how professional directors and cinematographers block out scenes and communicate with actors, all while writing and working on the many Irish stories he intends to tell.

Adam is a member in good standing of the Irish Film and Television Academy as a writer/director. As he continues to emerge in his career, his next step is to secure funding for future projects. Adam is represented by McFarlane Chard UK.
