Mia specialised in behaviourism and neuropsychology, working as a behavioural psychologist with children in Ireland and Sri Lanka. She also directed the award-winning short documentaries Mother & Baby and Throwline, delving into national issues of the time. In 2020, Mia earned a first-class master’s in screenwriting from IADT and moved into drama directing. Her short The Passion was IFTA-nominated, and Safe as Houses won gold at YDA, Cannes Lions 2023. Recently, she directed the RTÉ Storyland pilot Wrapped and was Irish Unit Director on the TV series The Gone. Currently, she is in pre-production to direct Hidden Assets and is writing a feature film Lucid with support from Toronto International Film Festival and Sloan. Named one of Screen International’s 2023 Irish Rising Stars, Mia has received over 80 awards and nominations, including two Gold YDAs at Cannes Lions.
