Thomas Hefferon was born in London in 1982. Moving to Ireland with his family in 1989, he settled in Dublin. After finishing school in June 2000, he attended the Film Foundation Course run by Filmbase. In the summer of 2003 Thomas Directed his first short film, ‘Perfect Strangers’, staring Emmet Scanlon from RTE’s recent “Hollywood Trials” program.

In November 2005 he collaborated with Stephen Crilly and Kevin de la Isla, to make the wacky comedy ‘Lesson 101: The Wacky Diary Of A Pickup Artist’. The film took best Direction, best runner up, best Actor and best Actress at the 2005 edition of the New York Midnight Madness Film Festival, while also screening at the Galway Film Fleadh the following July.

In May 2006 Thomas Directed two comedy sketches, back to back. The sketches, ‘Loose Change’ and ‘The Psychologist’ were accepted into the Galway Film Fleadh, and the Kerry Film Festival, respectively. The Russian TV channel, Mini Movies, has recently purchased the multiple screening rights to both sketches, for broadcasts throughout 2008.

Thomas’ most recent short film, ‘The Confession’, has enjoyed considerable success, especially on the film festival circuit where it has played at over 30 international film festivals. It has been selected for competition at Palm Springs, Rhode Island and San Francisco.
