Redemption of a Rogue, Philip’s debut feature, won Best Irish Film and Best Irish First Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh 2020. It has been selected at dozens of film festivals internationally, and was streamed on Netflix. It was nominated for 3 IFTAs, including Best Screenplay for Philip. He has recently completed production on CRÁ, a 6 part TV crime-drama series for BBC NI & TG4, where he is the series director and co-executive producer. Philip made his TV debut as writer/ director on TG4 with the TV Arts Film Samhlú, starring Tommy Tiernan. It won two European Prix Circom TV Awards, and a Celtic Media Award for Best Arts Film.
His comedy web-series The Begrudgers won RTE Storyland in 2012. His other films include the shorts The Diamond Boutique, (winner of two ‘Francie’ Awards at the Clones Film Festival), and the comedy The Goatee Uprising. Philip was selected to be a member of the inaugural BBC Dramaroom in 2016, and was on the BBC Talent Hot List 2017. Philip is a multi-award winning playwright and theatre director, winning a BBC Stewart Parker Award and a RTE PJ O’Connor Award. He graduated from NUI Galway with an honours degree in English and Sociology & Political Science, and a Masters in Drama & Theatre Studies. He currently lives in Dublin.
