Peter Foott is an award-winning director with vast experience in the Irish television industry. His first short, ‘The Carpenter & His Clumsy Wife’, was screened on RTE and Canal+ and at over fifty international festivals, winning the ‘Best Comedy’ Gong at LA International Film Festival, as well as a Special Mention at Venice. Since then, Peter has worked primarily in television and comedy. He has directed over one hundred episodes of the popular RTE sketch show ‘Republic Of Telly’, which included the winning of an IFTA in 2010 for ‘Best TV Moment.’ On top of this he has also directed thirty episodes of RTE’s hidden camera show, ‘The Fear’. 2016 saw Peter write and direct ‘The Young Offenders’, a story inspired by the infamous 2007 multi-million cocaine haul off the coast of Cork, and is set for release in September 2016; it has already been selected to screen at the Galway Film Fleadh 2016.
