Orla was born in Dublin in 1968. She studied English literature and then got smitten with the idea of working in film. She has written and directed a Series of four award winning short films, directed an IFTA winning comedy Series for RTÉ.

Orla writes screenplays but also collaborates with other writers. Interested in challenging material, political stuff as well as scripts about sexuality, done with humour if possible. Orla is co-located in Dublin and Donegal and has just learned to surf.

Orla is currently developing a feature film ‘Paradise’, a historical documentary and a Tv drama.
