Oisín Mac Coille is a prolific and versatile director whose career spans television drama, film, and children’s and educational programming. With over a hundred credits in TV continuing drama and close to another hundred in children’s and educational content, he has established himself as a confident and adaptable storyteller, working across a wide range of formats and audiences.

A fluent Irish speaker, Oisín is deeply connected to Irish language and culture, which frequently informs his work. His bilingual practice has enabled him to contribute to a broad range of Irish-language productions, supporting authentic representation and helping to bring the language to wider audiences through both drama and education.

In 2025, Oisín was awarded the Galway City of Film Short Documentary Bursary, which supported the production of Art That Rises, a short documentary exploring how his daughter uses art as a means of self-expression and self-regulation while living with diabetes. The film reflects his ongoing interest in dignity, resilience, and the quiet, everyday strategies people develop to navigate complex inner lives.
