Lorna devised and directed a short community film as part of The Abbey Theatre’s Dear Ireland project. With Fatima Groups United community project, and sponsored by TikTok and the St Patricks Day festival, Lorna made award winning dance and poetry film, Dance Till Dán, which has screened widely from Berlin’s ZEBRA poetry Film Festival to China’s ROLLOUT dance film festival.

Her first indie feature as writer / director, Meeting on the Stairs, toured with the Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival, across USA, South America and North Africa. The award-winning student feature film Poison Pen, with Lorna as lead director, screened world wide at festivals, on UTV television and Amazon Prime. As a director in the renowned Actors Studio at The Factory, Dublin, Lorna worked closely with many of the emerging Irish acting stars seen on international screens. She has completed Screen Ireland shadow director programmes on Irish TV series Red Rock and UK/USA series Sherlock and Daughter.

Most recently she has directed the short film Whale, a gripping drama about the complexity of domestic violence, produced by Wildfire Films, funded by FilmOffaly and recently screened at the ’16 Days 16 Films’ festival, in connection with the UN campaign 16 days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence. Lorna received Screen Ireland funding and is currently writing the feature screenplay of Whale.
