Audience Award — Competition Shorts. To All My Darlings
After graduating from the Irish National Film School (Dún Laoghaire Institute of Arts, Technology and Design) in 2020, Lia now works as a writer and director in fiction and documentary. Originally from Belfast, she has lived and worked in Dublin, Berlin and Cologne and is particularly drawn to stories surrounding identity.
Her fiction short film ‘Shee’, made in collaboration with Nairobi-based writer Aduda Hera and Northern Irish production company Dumbworld, was commissioned by the British Council and funded by the BFI Network. It premiered at the Cork International Film Festival in 2023. She is currently in development with two feature length documentary projects with Northern Ireland Screen; ‘Kollectiv Unruhe’ with Finepoint Films and ‘Run For Her’ with Farset Films.
