Having finished an internship in the Factory on Barrow St and a three year stint as the Festival Administrator and Marketing Assistant of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival, Kevin directed ‘Looks Like Rain’, a Galway Film Centre/RTÉ funded short film, which premiered at the 27th Galway Film Fleadh. It was nominated for ‘Best of Festival’ and ‘Best Direction’, at the 2016 Fastnet Film Festival and broadcast on RTÉ as part of the Shortscreen programme in Jan 2017.
Kevin then spent the best part of five years working with various groups of actors such as the Actors Studio in Bow St Academy of Screen Acting and Improv group ‘A Bunch of Us’, which led to his short film, ’The Letter’, premiering at the 28th Galway Film Fleadh He has since directed more than 500 Actors Showcases for the Part Time Screen Acting Course in Bow St.
Projects in 2019 included a documentary with Artist Leah Hewson and a series of workshops and short film with first time actors commissioned by the North Dublin Regional Drugs and Alcohol Task Force
In 2020, Kevin was selected by Screen Ireland for The Voice: Director’s Conceptual Development Fund for his project ‘Two Buses’. He was also selected for the second round of the Screen Skills Ireland Mentorship Programme with Writer/Director Mark O’Connor which was completed over the space of a year in 2021.
