Ciarán graduated from the National Film School in Dun Laoghaire with an honours degree in directing.

His IFB funded short-short, The Faeries of Blackheath Woods (2006), screened at over 40 festivals worldwide and won nine best short awards at international festivals such as; Melbourne, Cork, and Brest. It was also nominated for an IFTA and a Golden Meliés (European Fantasy Award).

Ciarán’s feature film debut Citadel, which premiered at SXSW in March 2012, garnered rave reviews from publications like Variety and blogs such as Aintitcool.com and walked away with the coveted Midnighters Audience Award.

He is represented by Michael McCoy at ITG London.
