James Wynne is an independent film maker based in Dublin, Ireland specialising in documentaries.

Réalt na Mara, James’ documentary feature debut telling the story of a cross community football team torn apart by the Troubles, featured at the 2026 Galway Film Fleadh and has been selected for festivals in France and the UK.

James has previously produced and directed films for TG4 including the critically acclaimed, Rugbai na mBan: Ag Briseadh Trid (2023). James also produced and directed Around My Island (2024) for RTE and France 3, telling the story of Irish sailor, Tom Dolan and his attempts to break the record for sailing around Ireland single handed.

While sport is a common theme, James’s work and stories explore the human condition and how we react when ordinary people find themselves in extraordinary situations and circumstances.
