Thomas Hefferon is an innovative Director/Writer who’s short films across various genres have screened and won several awards at over 150 international festivals, including Oscar Qualifiers Tribeca Film Festival, Galway Film Fleadh, and Aspen Film Festival. He has previously received funding from Screen Ireland, Filmbase and the Galway Film Center.

His short comedy “THE CONFESSION” got over 2.5 million views on YouTube, while the dark comedy “THE HEIST” was chosen by Vimeo as a Staff Pick. “FALLING APART” was made as part of the Sci-Fi London 48 Hour Film Festival, where it was chosen as the second best film out of 1200 entrants by judges Guillermo Del Toro and Benedict Cumberbatch.

He additionally has directed dozens of TV commercials across the globe for some of the world’s biggest brands, such as Toyota, Land Rover, Johnson & Johnson, and Jameson Whiskey, among others.

Most recently Thomas’s new film, LUCKY LIAM won the prestigious Tiernan McBride Award For Best Short Film at the Galway Film Fleadh, subsequently placing it on the 2027 Best Short Film Oscars long list.

He is also currently in active development on the feature film projects EXPULSION and THE WAKE, with a prospective 2027 shoot date for EXPULSION.
